A design vision of authenticity, identity, a sense of community, and respect for the environment (sustainability):
THE TRAGEDY THAT STRUCK.
LEADERSHIP AND THE WAY FORWARD.
Under the guidance of Mal Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli CFR, LLD, the 19th Emir of Zazzau, a comprehensive assessment of the mosque collapse was conducted with input from experts such as the Faculty of Architecture ABU ZARIA, Nigerian Institute of Architects, Nigerian Institute of Builders, and Kaduna State Ministry of Works. To further analyze the findings and chart a way forward, a team of esteemed professionals, led by former Nigerian Vice President Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo GCON, was appointed.
Following their recommendations, Dar Al Handasa was selected to design the new Mosque. The construction is set to take place during the reign of Sultan Mohammed Saad Abubakar CFR, with special acknowledgment to Chief Launcher Alh Abdulsamad Isyaka Rabiu, the technical team, and the fundraising committee under the former governor of Kaduna state Mal Nasir el Rufai CONm, and the current governor Mal Uba Sani.
This collective effort aims not only to reconstruct the Mosque but also to support the families of the victims. We express our gratitude in advance to all contributors and donors worldwide for their crucial role in making this project a success.
The collapse highlighted the fragility of enduring monuments, prompting reflection on the delicate balance between preservation and safety. Despite efforts to upgrade and expand, the mosque faced an unforeseen tragedy, leaving the community in grief and uncertainty about its future. As night fell over the Zazzau Emirate Council, the remnants of Mal Abdul Kareem Central Mosque whispered tales of centuries past, urging attention, preservation, and a collective commitment to safeguard the heritage ingrained in its foundations.
